With its thick natural clay rendered walls and exposed timbers, this home is a testament to collaboration, passion and imaginative solutions to challenges. Environmental Village: Eco-building in communities, Bend, Bega , NSW
Natural House Builders has experienced first hand the great pleasure of building within an eco-village. The Bend’s strong commitment to its community and to healthy building practices dovetailed perfectly with the natural House Builder’s philosophy and approach. An eclectic Adobe creation, this home settles into its beautiful location perfectly. It showcases individualized touches, like curving concrete kitchen benches, inset shelving and musical instrument displays, and fine recycled timber staircases. Built by hand, it’s a testament to cooperation with the owner, Peter Ascot, who contributed his vision, and helped so much with the sheer hard work of building. Natural House Builders was also commissioned to build an adobe hall for The Bend’s community to use for events, as a meeting place, or for celebrations. It has been a wonderful project, and we hope to be involved with more eco-villages over the years. Natural House Builders will soon be undertaking a third build in the Bend.

Its beauty is a unique marriage of earthy, recycled materials and truly creative eco-design.
Mimosa House, Far South Coast, NSW
This octagonal forest dwelling was a labour of love for Natural House Builders. A long-term vision was brought to life though geometry and multi-level design, while the vibrant colours and textures of the natural clays offer earthy, organic character. Featuring earthen and recycled timber flooring, this imaginative and unique home is at once fascinating and comforting.
Beach House, Far South Coast, NSW
Beginning as a potter’s studio, and drawing inspiration from the raw simplicity of rural tin sheds, The Beach House is a more contemporary take on the adobe design which characterises Natural House Builder’s approach. Peter worked closely with the artist owners, whose vision and hands-on dedication provided overarching inspiration and foundation for the finished build. Soft clay tones enhance the buttery wood finishes, with the contrasts between tin and clay exteriors creating visual impact, and providing a canvas for the ever-changing light of the landscape.
